Welcome to Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club

You must be an invited guest to use Deering Bay's sports and social facilities.  When you enter the Club please give your name and the name of the member you're meeting to the security guard at the front gate.  Enjoy the exquisite scenery for a minute's drive and make your first right to enter the clubhouse.  If playing golf, please drop your clubs at the foot of the clubhouse and our attendants will bring your clubs to the cart area.  If playing tennis, upon entering the clubhouse parking lot, make your first left.  Our tennis courts and pro-shop will be on your right.  Please check in with the pro-shop for court assignment.  For guests who will be using the fitness center and card room, please meet your accompanying member at the entrance to the clubhouse.  For guests who will be dining at Deering Bay, please enjoy our complimentary valet service on the second level of our clubhouse.

Deering Bay does not accept cash for merchandise, sports, food & beverage but does accept credit cards only from guests.  The Club does not allow cash tipping of employees for any services.

Attire:  The Club expects the attire of its members and guests to be in keeping with the generally accepted standards prevalent in comparable Clubs. All persons entering the Club are to be appropriately attired for the occasion. The Club reserves the right to deny access to the facilities to anyone dressed improperly. At the direction of the Board of Directors, Management may refuse service to and/or ask anyone to leave Club premises that is, in the opinion of Management, improperly attired. The following guidelines are intended to assist guests in meeting a standard of good taste that is necessary to maintain the dignity of the Club.
 
GOLF AREAS
Customary golf attire should be worn at all times while practicing or playing golf at Deering Bay, both for the player's own comfort and to maintain an appropriate environment for fellow golfers.  Gentlemen/ Young Men are required to wear collared shirts or mock turtleneck golf shirts and golf slacks or shorts.  Shirts must be tucked into pants or shorts at all times.  Ladies/ Young Ladies are required to wear golf dresses, skirts, culottes, slacks or bermuda length shorts.  Appropriate warm-up suits are permitted.  No brief shirts, brief shorts or tank tops of any description are permitted.

All golfers must wear soft spiked golf shoes or professional golf staff approved sneakers while on the golf course and practice areas.

The following attire is NOT PERMITTED at any of the above golf "areas":

  • Blue denim / jean pants, shorts, skirts or shirts.
  • Running shorts, short shorts, short skirts or cut off shorts
  • Tank tops, tube tops, bare midriffs or spaghetti strap tops
  • INDOOR DINING & SOCIAL AREAS 
    Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club reflects an elegant but relaxed lifestyle.  Country club casual attire is always appropriate in these areas of the Club.  Gentlemen’s suggested attire includes neat, non-frayed dress slacks and sport or dress shirts.  Sports jackets and sweaters are also appropriate choices.  Guayabera or "Tommy Baham" style tropical shirts may, if designed for such use, be worn loose and not tucked into trousers. Gentlemen are expected to remove their hats, caps or visors before entering any of the dining venues except as required for religious or health reasons.  Neat shorts without tears, holes or frayed edges are permitted until 6:00 p.m.  During Daylight Saving Time from March through October, shorts are permitted in the Bar until 8:00 p.m.  Ladies suggested attire should also strive for casual elegance.  In this regard, stylish warm-up suits are considered acceptable.  Ladies may wear hats in the Clubhouse.  Neat shorts without tears, holes or frayed edges are permitted until 6:00 p.m. Children ten (10) years of age or younger may wear shorts or neat, non-frayed blue jeans at any time while dining.  Children eleven (11) years and older are required to abide by adult guidelines for Club attire.  Minor children may be seated at tables in the Bar only when accompanied by a parent or an adult, but are not permitted to sit or dine at the bar under any circumstance.

    Jeans – Members and guests may wear neat blue jeans and blue denim without tears, holes or frayed edges throughout the Clubhouse at all times before 5:00 p.m.  Blue jeans are permitted on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings after 5:00 p.m.  Blue jeans are not permitted Friday, Saturday or Sundays after 5:00 p.m.

    Workout Clothing – Workout clothing is permitted at the Continental Breakfast service, but only
    until 10:00 a.m.

    Golf Shoes – Golf shoes with soft spikes are permitted in all areas of the Club.

    The following attire is NOT PERMITTED in the above dining venues during lunch and dinner service hours and is not appropriate dress at any time for activities in The Club such as card games, book club or other meetings or social gatherings:

  • Running or coaching shorts, short shorts or tops with bare midriffs
  • Workout clothing, spandex or biking outfits
  • Bathing suits or bathing suits with cover-ups or micro mini skirts
  • Ripped, torn, tattered, frayed, or cut off clothing of any type
  • Clothing with inappropriate sayings or messages
  • OUTDOOR DINING TERRACES
    The golf and pool terraces provide dining opportunities for those who wish to dress more casually than permitted indoors.  Bathing suits with cover-ups may be worn while dining on these terraces anytime before 6:00 p.m.  For the safety and protection of Members and their guests, it is required that shoes or sandals be worn while dining on these terraces.  Jeans are permitted on these terraces only in accordance with the above "jeans" rule.  Sports or casual attire such as golf or tennis wear may be worn in these areas at any time.  The indoor buffet services will only be available to these outdoor diners who are in sports or casual attire.  Bathing suit attire will not be permitted indoors at any time.

    TENNIS AREAS
    Appropriate and customary tennis attire should be worn at all times while practicing or playing tennis at Deering Bay, both for the player's own comfort and to maintain a proper environment for other tennis players.  Gentlemen / Young Men must wear shirts at all times.  Junior players may wear tennis style tee shirts provided they do not bear inappropriate words or messages.  Ladies / Young Ladies must wear appropriate tennis outfits.  Junior players may wear tennis style tee shirts provided they do not bear inappropriate words or messages.  Colored tennis attire is always acceptable.  Smooth soled tennis shoes are required at all times on the tennis courts.

    The following are NOT PERMITTED on the tennis courts:

  • Running shoes, bare feet or other types of athletic shoes
  • Blue denim / jean pants, shorts, skirts or shirts
  • Cut-off shorts
  • Tank tops, sleeveless shirts and tee shirts not designed for tennis
  • Bathing suits / Cover-ups
  • FITNESS CENTER
    Appropriate workout attire should be worn at all times in the Fitness Center.  Well-fitted athletic shoes must be worn while exercising in the gym unless a class instructor requests otherwise.  Bare feet are not permitted.  Gentlemen / Young men must wear shirts at all times.  Ladies / Young Ladies must wear a shirt or alternative top over sports bras.

    The following is NOT PERMITTED in the fitness center:

  • Bare feet
  • Sports bras without a top

  • POOL AREA
    Appropriate swimming attire must be worn at all times when in or around the pool and pool deck.  Children must wear bathing suits. In accordance with State of Florida health codes, children wearing diapers (including "leak proof" diapers) are not permitted in the pool or hot tub.

    The following are NOT PERMITTED in the pool area:

  • Thong style suits
  • Children wearing diapers
  • Roller blades or wheeled shoes are not permitted on the pool deck/area.
  • CELL PHONE USE
    Cellular phone use has become a vital part of many Members and Guest's daily professional and personal lives.  We at Deering Bay believe that there must be rules governing appropriate and considerate use of these devices while attending or participating in club activities and while dining.

    Dining Venues – Ringing cell phones and oral conversation via cell phone is not permitted in any Dining venue.  It is required that cellular phones be placed on vibrate or silent mode when in or around these areas.

    Fitness Center – For safety reasons, cellular phones may not be used at any time while using gym equipment or exercise machines in the fitness center.

    Golf Areas – Because of the traditional rules of etiquette governing the game of golf, we request all golfers turn off their cell phone ringers and refrain from holding cellular phone conversations while on the course as much as possible.  We urge your consideration as ringing phones and conversation can be disruptive to both those in your group and at holes nearby. Please exercise discretion on the course, the practice green and the driving range.

    Tennis Facility – Because of the traditional rules of etiquette governing the game of tennis, ringing of cellular phones is not permitted at any time on or around the tennis courts.  It is requested that Members and their guests refrain from holding cellular phone conversations on or around the tennis courts unless absolutely necessary as this is interruptive and interferes with other players' games.

    USE OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS
    Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club is a Smoke Free Environment.  Smoking is strictly prohibited in and around the Clubhouse, including the pool terrace, golf terrace and pool deck.  Please refrain from using any tobacco products in these areas, both as a courtesy to other members and staff and to assure the Club's compliance with state and local ordinances.
