Deering Bay's Organic Garden Blog, "A Garden on the Bay"

For the 2011/2012 growing season, Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club planted 1,000 square feet of organic produce under the direction of well known Pinecrest Farmer's Market vendor, QCS Certified Organic Farmer and Deering Bay Chef Tim Rowan. Tim, Golf Course Groundskeeper Rob Wethy, various Member volunteers and 4th grade students from Temple Beth Am Day School will interact with the garden and learn about organic farming and the Slow Food movement.

Pinecrest Tribune - The story behind Chapman Field

In the southeast corner of Pinecrest, there is a road that seems to have a mind of its own.  Diving diagonally to the southeast through the regular grid of avenues and streets, Chapman Field Drive crosses Ludlam Road on a beeline to Biscayne Bay, terminating at Old Cutler Road.
