“What an amazing, unexpected location for a wedding. Miami is a big city but it seems weddings are held at the same handful of places and I wanted something different. When I toured the location all I saw was a blank slate with such potential and a staff that was eager and willing to make my day amazing. It was such a pleasure working with the crew at Deering. They were available to address all of my needs, answer all of my questions, and accommodate all of my requests with such professionalism and care. I felt so relaxed putting so many of the details in the hands of the staff because I trusted in them. They coordinated seamlessly with outside vendors and the day of the event I had no worries because I was in good hands. The food was incredible and all of the guests raved that it was far beyond typical wedding fayre. The wait staff was professional and congenial and on top of everything to perfection. My husband and I felt like king and queen and our guests felt like royalty. The entire property served as a beautiful backdrop for pictures and is the epitome of Miami landscape and beauty. “Deering Bay truly made my big day special. The staff was great, and took care of every detail. My guests are still talking about, "the best wedding food they've ever had". We initially were going to have the ceremony outside but with Florida's unpredictable weather, the rain came down. This didn't put a damper on the event. The Deering staff didn't skip a beat. From booking the venue, to planning the party, to coordinating with the vendors and even providing fun suggestions for the reception, Kathleen made the process seamless. Although the website lists Kathleen as the “Director of Catering,” Kathleen made us feel like we had a private wedding planner – a role which she certainly did not have to take-on, but did so because she really enjoys her job (which is obvious from the first time you meet her) and takes it seriously. Deering Bay: Whatever you are paying Kathleen, you need to triple it! Your venue is beautiful and your food is great, but the true value in having a wedding at Deering Bay lies in getting to work with someone as professional and organized as Kathleen Phang.
